| A sixteen foot sailing boat with a white hull and aluminium mast. Designed by Tim Quin the boat is 2.29m wide with a 14.6 sq.m sail area. The boat weighs 133 kg has daggerboards and only one trapeze.
We sailed Tim's boat in the Thames Estuary on a very light wind day in hot sun. She sailed well and was enjoyable to helm but we really wanted a blow to see if she would pitchpole but in the conditions we were never going to know. The boat was very nice to look at and well fitted out even sailed ok. but at the end of the day it was difficult to see who would want one. The 16 foot market is now owned by the learners boat the Dart 16 which would sail faster and cost a lot less. Also with a Dart you can trade up later to an 18 or a Hawk. |

| Marlin have made a 5 metre boat which weighs 145kg which is a reasonable weight but why not build a Formula 18 cat if you want to make a new boat.
We will try to test this boat as soon as possible. |
